Laser Absorption Spectroscopy (TDLAS):
Remote Laser methane detectors use TDLAS (Tunable Diode Laser Absorption Spectroscopy) technology to provide precise methane detection with a tunable diode laser. The laser emits a narrow beam of light at a wavelength that matches methane’s absorption profile. As the beam passes through the gas, some of the light is absorbed by the methane molecules. A sensor then captures the reflected light, and by analyzing how much is absorbed, the system calculates the methane concentration.
